Surfinia is a perennial plant, but due to its sensitivity to frost and lower temperatures, it is grown mainly as an annual plant. It is a bushy plant with long drooping branches that is mainly grown in hanging pots on balconies and gardens, and is therefore also known as hanging petunia. It grows very quickly and with long shoots of almost 1.5 m it creates flower waterfalls in the period from May to autumn. Over time, the stems become woody. The leaves are oval, covered with a layer of hairs, aromatic and slightly sticky when rubbed, and the root system is extremely strong.
